A MILLION DOLLAR OPPORTUNITY: UK-based council offers staggering scholarship for young Filipinos who aspire to be future ship Captains/Chief Engineers

More than 10 years ago, the International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC), has started a particular cadet-training program that nurtures young Filipinos’ dream to become world-class ship officers.

According to a report posted on its website, over 600 cadets have successfully completed, with 480 more undergoing their Enhanced Cadet Training Program.

These cadet scholars enjoy free tuition, food, accommodation, uniform and first class trainings, among other perks, courtesy of IMEC shipping company member – sponsors. Take note as well that they are being honed in none other school but the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), a topnotch maritime institution of higher learning in the country.

Like the NSA Cadet Program, the scholars have to complete a 2-1-1 maritime education scheme. Means, the first two years are spent in school, and the third year is set at sea for apprenticeship. The latter provides best chances to learn how to live and earn $$$$$ at sea.

Finally, they return to MAAP, after more or less a year, to complete their college degree.

And what happens after school will perhaps stun you.

If other graduates of ‘nautical’ or ‘Mar-E’ have to find and kneel before shipping companies just to get an apprenticeship job, IMEC leveled-up cadets, on the other hand, swiftly return to their respective shipping companies either as junior officers or to be promoted as ships’ officers soon.

Lucky chosen few, right? 🙂

If you can hitch your wagon to a star and have dreamt of travelling the world while enjoying a hefty salary, apply for a scholarship grant today and join IMEC seafarers’ growing family.

Who are qualified to apply?

Anyone who wants to be a seafarer is invited to apply but IMEC has set the following requirements to be accepted in the program.

Outstanding OFW Blogger: NSA Scholarship helped me bequeath a brighter future

IMG_20170326_092715

Almost five (5) years ago I finished my secondary education. Though I graduated with flying colors, entering a prestigious university in the nearby city became a big challenge.

I believe my mind & body can make it but not our pockets since I was born poor. Our family’s main source of income those days was merely farming.

Cliché as it may sound but poverty is not a hindrance to success. I really want to have a college degree so I tried to apply for a scholarship grant and eventually, passed all the required examinations. To make the long story short, I became a NSA Cadet and my life was changed forever.

In a TV interview, I detailed how I started my seafaring career and got a job right after I graduated college.

Thanks to NSA Philippines Cadet Program! 🙂 I’m always grateful for their given trust and support.

If you or you know a friend, relative or perhaps a colleague who aspires to study in college for *free and be a world-class seafarer in the near future, encourage him/her now to apply for a NSA Scholarship grant!
